Greenbelt - 1:56

Ran the Garden City/Eagle path out and back at about 7:10-7:15 pace, then did the last 6 miles a bit quicker, including 4 x half mile pickups in about 3:05 during the last 4 miles. Felt pretty strong today. The day off yesterday probably contributed to me feeling a bit more fresh today.

Fine run today...good pace and good progression. I still envy your greenbelt.

Have you picked any goal races yet? Are you going to try and run Robie Creek or Famous Potato?

Jeff,

yeah, the greenbelt is pretty nice. I live about 4 miles away so I usually drive there when I run on it. I like the foothills trails too, especially the military reserve.

I am planning to run Robie this year. You're not really a runner in Boise unless you've done Robie. I saw on your blog you ran it last year and placed pretty high. I'd be curious to hear about your experience.

Robie definitely lives up to its reputation...it is a hard HM. Best suggestion I have...train for hills, both up and down as the uphill is very steep and torturous and the downhill is as steep as I have run and you need to be able to open it up. If you can train the actual hill...do it, otherwise train on long continous hills (not repeats) as best you can. See my race report from last year for more info.
