Valley High - 26:05

Pretty good pace around the subdivision, down the road and back up the well road. At 10 a.m.

Made myself an ultimatum: If I am going to sign up for some summer and fall races, I need to start running more. If I can do 40, 45, 50 & 55 miles during the next 4 weeks, that will give me reason to believe I could train 18 weeks after that for the Portland Marathon. If not, I can be a recreational 20-30 miles a week guy too. No problem.

Hillcrest Loop+ - 51:50

Nice run on a cool evening. Ran after an all day rain, so it was nice and fresh out. Did the loop and added about 10-15 minutes on the golf course. I felt somewhat paranoid for tresspassing and saw a guy a couple of times near the pond who seemed to be looking at me, but when I ran by him he was actually trying to fly fish (poach) so he had more to worry about than me. Finished with 4 x 30 second pickups in the last mile.

Canal banks + treadmill - 40:38

Ran 25 minutes on the canals then finished on the treadmill with 15 minutes of easy fartlek. Felt pretty good this evening.

Garden City path - 52:21

Started at the Glenwood ponds and went downstream until the trail was closed. Kept the pace at about 7:25/mile on the way out and felt sluggish. Picked it up for a 20+ minute tempo on the way back at 6:17/mile pace. For running on a trail in fading light, I was happy at how easy the tempo felt. As a sidenote, there were lots and lots of bugs out on the trail tonight. I definitely swallowed a few.

Canal banks + neighborhoods - 41:57

This run dragged on and on. I was kind of dehydrated and really not in the mood to run, but I managed to get out. I didn't feel decent until the end of the run. Overall pace was 7:37/mile. I actually feel worse running that slow than it 7:00 pace.

Middle Fork Rd + Valley High - 43:10

Started a run with Emily and Nica in the stroller, but Nica was not in the mood, so I had to go back early. Then finished with a run around the subdivision and later down to the river.
